Authentic Reflection

Authentic Reflection

Feedback from Participants in

Authentic Reflection Workshops

The way I might use authentic reflection in my work is to help students relate the concepts I teach in programming to the real world because youth often can not make the connection. My first step is to share this information with my team so we are all utilizing best practices. youth development practitioner

What I originally though about authentic reflection was it would only be useful for my youth because the workshop description focused on it as a tool for working with youth. After the workshop I realize it has multiple uses. youth development practitioner

The way I might use authentic reflection in my work is with my staff because they will learn a new technique to use for working with youth. I will use it as a "check in" as part of evaluations of the staff. My first step is to develop sentence starters pertaining to evaluation tools. youth development practitioner

What I originally though about authentic reflection was that it is the same as open journal writing because I was taught that way in school. After the workshop I realize that there are many parts to authentic reflections that make it different from open journal writing.

The way I might use authentic reflection in my work is to add it to my daily agenda because it is an excellent way to see how youth are feeling. My first step is to put this in my curriculum. youth development practitioner

What I originally though about authentic reflection was it would give me an insight on how to get teens to open up and reflect because it seemed as if it would deal with that just from the workshop title and description. After the workshop I honest believe I have way more insight in getting teens to open up and really think and not just answer.
