ABBY REMER provides innovative arts and cultural education services to organizations nationwide. Her work reflects a strong commitment to using the arts as an exciting and stimulating learning tool, educating participants about new ideas and asking them to reflect upon the relevancy of the information to their own lives and heritages. Ms. Remer has written for institutions around the country and has authored the following books for Davis Publications of Worcester, Massachusetts: Discovering Native American Art, released March 1996, and Pioneering Spirits: The Lives and Times of Remarkable Women Artists in Western History, and Enduring Visions: Women's Artistic Heritage Around the World. Ms. Remer was also a contributing editor to both teacher and student editions of the major text book Discovering Art History, released January 1996. She provided substantial material on contemporary art trends; classroom activities that connect art of all times and cultures to the performing arts; as well as extensive, original lesson plans for the text's sixty chapters.

Media projects include the production of a documentary created for public television broadcast entitled Every Picture Tells a Story: Teenagers Interview Larry Rivers, the videotape Francoise Gilot on Life and Art with Pablo Picasso, and a comprehensive teachers' guide for Behind the Scenes, a nationally broadcast and distributed ten-part videotape series on the arts.

Ms. Remer continues to design a variety of programs for nonprofit cultural organizations while also teaching graduate courses at New York University. Enduring Visions: Women's Artistic Heritage Around the World is a logical extension of her passion for making non-mainstream art easily accessible to a broad public.
